The Studio, Royston

  • The Studio is my homely (client-facing) post-production sanctuary, located in the heart of Royston's Town Centre. The Studio is a 5 minute walk from Royston Railway Station - which is regularly served by trains between London St. Pancras International, London Kings Cross and Cambridge. The Studio is a direct 15 minute journey by train from Cambridge, and only 37 minutes from London.
  • At The Studio, I offer wide-ranging services which cover the full Film & HETV post-production pipeline including, but not limited to: Backup & Ingesting, Offline (Editing), Online (Colour/VFX), Audio (Design & Mix), Deliverables & Archival Solutions.
  • The Studio is fully equipped with a new, custom-built M1 Ultra Mac Station workstation (my primary post workhorse), fast ethernet/Wi-Fi, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve Studio 18, the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite and many more leading creative/technical applications.
  • Our unique micro edit facility, which combines a homely setting with contemporary, cutting-edge tech at the backend can comfortably swim through any film, HETV or digital/new media workflow: HD, 2K, 4K, 8K or even 12K resolution. We can also edit, monitor and deliver natively in HDR / HFR, and all modern codecs/formats are supported, ensuring that the studio is at the forefront for tomorrow's post production requirements as well as today's.
  • Sessions are flexible & relaxed and can be In-Person, Remote via Internet or a mixture of both dependent on the client's preferences and scale/nature of the project.
  • I cater to a wide-variety of clients including: other local freelancers and production companies, small businesses, and professionals based regionally/nationally who seek post-production work with a personal touch and who continue to seek specialist creative services and consultation in niche areas.
  • Feel free to get in touch, and we'll take it from there!

Bio: In Brief

Louis Holder is an award-winning filmmaker, whose work has featured at numerous national and international film festivals worldwide, with over a decade of experience.

Having been awarded a BFI Rising Star Award at the House of Lords in 2013, Louis has since worked in numerous film, multimedia and academic contexts across both production and editorial departments. His past directorial and producing work has been backed by national and regional funding organisations including the BFI, Screen Suffolk and The Quentin Hogg Trust

As an editor, Louis is a firm believer in supporting the vision of a director and their story as demonstrated by his numerous and recurring collaborations with both first-time and auteur directors across drama and documentary. He is particularly interested in championing (and working together with) both regional and international talent in the cutting room - especially individuals with personal and vital stories to tell, who are looking to say something to and about the world, for the big screen.
